God's Plan of Salvation
The word Salvation in the dictionary is defined as:
-
Preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss
-
Deliverance from danger or difficulty
As humans, we all know that there is a power more extensive and higher than we are. Christians believe that this power can preserve and deliver us from harm, ruin, loss, danger, and difficulty, and this power is Jesus Christ. It is this preservation and redemption that is often referred to as Salvation. Once Salvation has been realized through faith and confession, an individual is said to have been saved. This concept is simple to grasp when we don’t try to use our intellect to comprehend or explain it. The question is, what is the power and the source of Salvation, and how do we attain it? Here’s how we answer the question.
As Jesus was teaching about the new birth and the kingdom, Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews and an authority on interpreting the Hebrew Scriptures, wanted to know more. Like others, Nicodemus had witnessed Jesus in action and heard the words He spoke and was convinced that he was a God-sent teacher. Under the disguise and cover of the night, Nicodemus made his way to Jesus. He asked Jesus, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus replied, “For sure, I tell you unless a man is born of water and the Spirit of God, he cannot get into the holy nation of God (the kingdom).
We want to share with you four simple facts on how you can get into the holy nation of God and be born again (saved). Through this simple process, you become a citizen in the Kingdom of God, your passage to Heaven.

Somewhere along the way, all of us have missed the mark of perfection (sinned). Because of our imperfections, we need strength and a source more powerful than our own to cover our shortcomings. Jesus is the only one who walked on the earth and did not miss the mark. Romans 3:10 says, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
-
Whenever a law is broken, the legal system demands that someone is held responsible and pays the price for the illegal action. God’s law says the cost of missing the mark (sin) is eternal separation from a perfect God (death and hell). Romans 6:23a, “For the wages of sin is death.”
-
Because Jesus was the only one who walked the earth without missing the mark (sin), He became the only person capable of paying the price. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” My friend, this is excellent news!

I was taught that when someone is giving you a gift, you accept it. God, through Jesus, has given us a gift (Salvation). We can only receive the gift by believing and verbally acknowledging that a gift has been given. Romans 10:9-10, If you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved from the punishment of sin. 10 When we believe in our hearts, we are made right with God. We tell with our mouth how we were saved from the punishment of sin..”
No matter who you are, or where you are, or what you have done, Jesus is ready right now to give you this gift. Are you prepared and ready to accept it? If you are, pray this simple prayer:
Dear Jesus, I confess I have missed the mark and am liable, by God’s law, to pay a debt that requires eternal separation from God. Still, because I cannot pay the debt, I believe that you, Jesus, through your bloodshed on the cross and resurrection from the dead, is the only acceptable payment for my sin. I accept your gift of eternal life; please come into my heart right now and be my owner (Lord and Savior) from this day forward. Walk with me daily. Be my friend. Lead and guide me, and direct my steps; in Jesus’ name, I pray this prayer. Amen.’
That’s it! If you believe what you have read, heard, and prayed, you are saved! Now come discipleship and conversion. Your journey has just begun.
